2012 BMW M5
There is no doubt that the new 2011 BMW 5-Series has been a huge success for the German automaker, however, now BMW is back with the high-performance version of the 5-Series – the new 2012 BMW M5.
“The new BMW M5 is a high-performance sports car whose exceptional dynamic potential is geared squarely to the demands of track use yet which also sets a new benchmark in everyday driving with its supreme touring comfort and innovative equipment features,” BMW says.

That’s nice. What we were most interested in when reading the press release was when BMW mentions that the 2012 BMW M5 carries “the most powerful engine ever fitted in a series-produced model from BMW M GmbH.” That’s right ladies and gentlemen, the 2012 BMW M5  is powered by a 4.4L V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo (consisting of Twin Scroll Twin Turbo Technology) helping it produce a whopping 560-hp between 6,000 and 7,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 502 lb-ft from 1,500 rpm.
Mated to a 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission Drivelogic (with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters), the 2012 BMW M5 runs from 0 to 62 mph in 4.4 seconds, 0 to 124 mph in 13 seconds and carries a top speed of 155 mph or 190 mph with M Driver’s Package.
How much will it cost? Well, we have no pricing details as of yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as BMW let’s us know.
